BOSTON, MA –   State Auditor Suzanne M. Bump recently welcomed student State Auditors to the State House during the 68th Annual Student Government Day.

This year’s student State Auditor is Bryce Callahan, of North Chelmsford. The alternate is Wesley Silva of Clinton.  Both are students at the Marie Phillip School at the Learning Center for the Deaf in Framingham.

Bump met with both Callahan and Silva before speaking to the group of Student Government Day participants about the role the Office of the State Auditor plays in helping make government work better in Massachusetts.

During Student Government Day, approximately 400 students from participating high schools throughout Massachusetts assemble at the State House, where they hear firsthand from officials how state government functions, and engage in activities replicating that of the General Court, Constitutional Officers and Supreme Judicial Court. All of the students participating in the Annual Student Government Day have expressed interest in entering into a career of government and public service. Student Government Day, now in its 68th year, is facilitated by the Massachusetts Department of Education.
