Being the Candidates Son!

By: Zeke Golnik – September, 2010

Hi my name is Zeke Golnik and my dad, Jon Golnik is running for Congress in the 5th district of Massachusetts. My dad is a hard working man who is unhappy about our country right now and wants to make it a better place for me and my sister Tillie when we grow up. But to do that my dad has to be gone a lot. Sometimes I get a little sad when he is gone but when that happens I always think about why he is doing it… for me and my sister!

My dad usually leaves around 7am and comes back at 10pm. That is a long time but throughout the day he calls and asks how we’re doing like a loving and caring dad does when they are away. Sometimes on special occasions we get to come to his office and hang out there! There is a big space in the back of my dad’s office for me to practice my hockey shot. The wall is brick so the hockey pucks come right back to me after I shoot them. I also hang out with my dads’ staff, but not too much because I don’t want to distract them from their work.

During my dad’s campaign I have been able to meet a lot of interesting people, learn a ton about politics and become a nicer person. I think my dad is doing a wonderful job in the race and if somebody says something mean about him he just ignores them and keeps plugging along. My dad is doing the right thing and even though he is gone a lot he still finds some time to spend with his family. So vote for my dad on September 14th and November 2nd. And remember what my dad says “Congress isn’t listening. Jon Golnik will.” So remember… VOTE FOR MY DAD!
