Fundraiser for Methuen Woman with Cancer

amandaAmanda DaSilva is a long-time resident of Methuen who is fighting Leukemia.

She battled cancer in 2013, and underwent chemo, radiation and surgery.

She is now fighting for her life and has been diagnosed with leukemia, which is a result of the aggressive treatment she had from her previous cancer. Amanda is a single mom of a 15yr old sophomore.

Her sister, Wanda, has been working with Deletebloodcancer.org and is hosting a bone marrow drive on Oct 24th 10-2pm in Methuen at the Timony Grammar School in Methuen.

Amanda is currently hospitalized at Massachusetts General Hospital (she has been there now for 4 weeks with at least a few more planned for now)  in the hopes to get her Leukemia under control before a life saving bone marrow transplant is needed.

She was a Somerville High school graduate and now a long time resident of Methuen, raising her son. She is currently unable to work and support herself financially.  The family has set up a gofundme page to help with all of her financial obligations.

The fundraiser event will have food, raffles and music in Somerville at the Dante Club in Somerville on Oct 24th, 730pm.
