Just days after Lawrence Mayor Dan Rivera ordered Dorchester Gas Contractor Feeney Brothers out of his city for their role in the gas explosions on September 13th, Valley Patriot news spotters sent us these photos of Feeney Brothers on Loring Street in Lawrence doing gas work Sunday.

Within minutes of seeing The Valley Patriot’s post of the photos on Facebook, Mayor Dan Rivera said he sent police to the scene with an official cease and desist order and says the city will be issuing a fine to the company.

feeney2The fine is between $300-$600.

Feeney Brothers was also expelled from The town of Andover when town officials determined that their work was presenting a safety risk. Feeney Brothers is still doing gas work in the Town of North Andover despite protests by a local labor union president who says that Feeney Brothers should not be working in any of the affected areas of Lawrence, North Andover, and Andover until a final report is issued from the National Transportation Safety Administration (NTSB).

Town Manager Andrew Maylor told the Valley Patriot Friday that Feeney is being supervised on all gas work done in his town.

A preliminary report by the NTSB stated that Feeney Brothers were given a faulty work order by Columbia Gas and that the gas explosions may not have been Feeney’s fault.
