HEARING SCHEDULED TO BAN FATHER’S BOOK ON CORRUPTION IN FAMILY COURT

 On March 2, 2006,

Judge Peter C. Digangi issued a temporary restraining order denying Kevin Thompson his first amendment rights to distribute or discuss his recently released book titled, “Exposing the Corruption in the Massachusetts Family Courts.”

A hearing on this matter is scheduled for Friday, March 10, 2006, at 8:30 AM in Salem Probate Court. Kathleen Moran, the mother of Thompson’s three-year old son, brought the proposed order to the court. The case is to be heard by Judge Digangi, whose specific crimes are exposed in Thompson’s book. Not only is this a free speech issue, but since this specific judge is prominently mentioned in the book, the judge will be violating his own oath and requirement to not participate in any case in which he has a vested interest.

This issue has caused a stir among fathers’ rights groups in the state who have grown tired of the illegal treatment that they receive in family court where constitutional law is routinely ignored. In the words of one father, “they have taken our rights to due process, equal protection, our inalienable right to parent, and our right to a trial by jury. They ignored the opinion expressed by 86% of the citizen’s polled in our last state election who support shared parenting. Now they are coming after free speech to conceal the crimes that this particular father has exposed in his book. It is time to pull the plug on this system of corruption that uses secrecy, ignorance, and intimidation to rape the people it is supposed to protect.” Frederick Douglass said it best, “where any one class is made to feel that society is an organized conspiracy to oppress, rob, and degrade them, neither persons nor property will be safe.

A protest is planned outside the courthouse on Friday. All members of the media are invited and encouraged to attend. Contact Kevin Thompson at 978-691-1191 or kmtinma@comcast.net for further information. Thompson’s prepared written statement for this hearing is also available at your request.
