Steve, originally from Detroit, started his singing career in New York City as a lead singer for The Business Of Blues, opening for artists like Buddy Guy and Junior Wells. His swing/jazz sound is a mix of Dixieland and Mose Allison. He harkens to the days of great singers like Sinatra while performing the Great American Songbook and his own bluesy originals featured on his latest cd STEVE BLACKWOOD with guitarist ROBBEN FORD – Heat of the Night.

An accomplished actor, many will know Steve as Bart Biederbieke on NBC’s “Days Of Our Lives”- a character he played for 9 years. He has also guest starred on numerous television shows, and had a lead role in the feature film “Machine Gun Preacher” with Gerald Butler. Steve performed his original tune “Care To Love” on the Soap Network
