Hollywood Film “LAWTOWN” Focuses on Lawrence’s Opioid Crisis as a Microcosm for the Country

32765931_10155674670042903_6520313907892977664_nIn December 2016, Justyn Moro, Patrick Flaherty, and Max Rose, alongside Anthem Films began producing a feature length film about the Heroin problem in Lawerence, MA. The team set out with an objective of finding a story amongst the chaos of the opioid problem in Lawerence. Justyn Moro spearheaded the creation of the documentary after having an emotional reaction over the death of a dear friend due to a overdose.

The film, LAWTOWN, was filmed over the course of the next year to tell the story of hope, redemption, and despair. Myself, Tom Duggan, and several others (Tina Croteau, William Green, and Anthony Sideri) became main characters of the film which is now in the final stages of post production.

A trailer and more details pertaining to the release of the film will be forthcoming.

    My name is Jonathan
25 I am a Lawrence born native; I have seen first hand what the drug epidemic does to people. I myself personally have dealt with opiod crisis as I too had fell under its spell. I’ve overcame that crisis. The movie should focus on all aspects of the drug from why people in the inner city sell it to why and people (users) combat their daily. I have family members that have overdosed and died, family members that were high in the drug world totem pole. There’s a lot that goes into the opid/ drug game epidemic. I just want inner city Lawrence to have an insightful input on this movie.
