I was Just Thinking

…When exactly did the era of the store clerk asking if we want a bag begin?

…Don’t we have enough choices in life without having to decide bag or no bag?

…Will someone please settle whether tipping should be 15 or 20 percent?

…If the new health care bill is Giant Water Slide supposed to promote health for all why are so many people getting sick over it?

…Did our parents ever have to press one for English every time they made a business call?

…And why are all in public service jobs today filled by those whose accents are near impossible to decipher?

…Why in politics is there the philosophical divide of big government vs. big business? Isn’t it obvious that both are contrary to human dignity?

…The two gravest economic errors in contemporary times are insurance and credit. One keeps prices sky high while the other keeps people dependent.

…After a full century of automobile technology when are we finally going to replace cars with individual jet packs?

…Ever notice that those who talk a whole lot are the most respected but the least intelligent?

…Is a white man that moves here from South Africa an African-American?

…Is anyone else saddened at how many middle-aged divorced women are on internet dating sites today?

…Only those who do great things are misunderstood and persecuted.

…Have you noticed people on television keep getting younger?

…Among the most traumatizing moments in life has to be the first time you first realize athletes on your professional sports teams are younger than you.

…When will it become politically incorrect to discriminate against white males?

…Have you noticed dogs have become more popular than people today?

…Why are 95% of songs about the silly travails of infatuation when there are so many other things to sing about?

…One of the most puzzling terms of the past four decades is long-term relationship. Isn’t this what used to be referred to as marriage? Or is the LTR simply selfish insurance against the sacrifice and responsibility of permanent commitment?

…Now that the pill has sterilized western women to the tune of 1.6 children each, are they really happier?

…You think feminism has produced angry women? Just wait until they wake up to the realization that contraception is simply the vehicle for men to selfishly use women.

…Other than the term “adult” used for pornography, is there a bigger misnomer today than the word “feminism”? Shouldn’t it really be called masculinism?

…Red Sox opening day is on Easter Sunday…I suppose an appropriate symbol of hope and resurrection after the Angels of death struck them prematurely last year in the playoffs.

Happy Spring!
