Lisa Yarid Ferry To Run For DiZoglio State Rep. Seat

LIFELONG RESIDENT AND ACTIVE COMMUNITY MEMBER

 

ferryLisa Yarid Ferry, who has lived in the Prospect Street area of Methuen for most of her life, has taken out nomination papers to run for State Representative in the 14th Essex District. 

“I have been an active citizen in the City of Methuen for decades including being a member of the Methuen City Council for the last 6 years (2012-2018). I currently serve as Vice-Chair of the Methuen City Democratic Committee, and I am very involved with my church,  First Church Congregational in Methuen. I serve as a Deacon, I participate in the Chancel Choir and run the MAN, Inc. Back to School Projectsaid Lisa Yarid Ferry.. “The opportunity to represent the 14th Essex District at the State House is one of distinction and honor and one in which I will do my very best to earn the vote and support of all of the people of the district.” 

The MA 14th Essex District consists of Haverhill: Ward 7: Precinct 2; Lawrence: Ward A: Precincts 1, 3, Ward F: Precinct 1; Methuen: Precincts 3, 7, 10; North Andover: Precincts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.

If elected, Lisa’s legislative priorities will be supporting ongoing work and funding to tackle the substance abuse/opiate epidemic, additional education and special education support, workforce development opportunities for the 14th Essex district, any housing, employment or training efforts to support veterans, and supporting any efforts to assist our senior citizens and public safety personnel.

“I believe Lisa’s education coupled with her work, civic and volunteer experience and her love for the community has prepared her to take the next step of working for the people of the 14th Essex District as their State Representative, champion and advocate,” said Haverhill Mayor James J. Fiorentini.

Ms. Yarid Ferry’s educational background consists of her earning an Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts from Northern Essex Community College, a Bachelors Degree in Political Science from the University of Nevada at Las Vegas and a Master’s of Science Degree from the University of Massachusetts, Boston’s McCormack Institute in Public Affairs. 

Lisa’s work experience includes 15 years working at the Massachusetts State House as a Research Analyst, Senior Research Analyst and Research Director of the Joint Committee on Energy and the Joint Committee on Telecommunications, Utilities and Energy. Ms. Yarid Ferry also worked as a Senior Associate for the Dewey Square Group serving as their Legislative Director for almost ten years. In August, 2016, Ms. Yarid Ferry accepted the position of Executive Assistant to Haverhill Mayor James J. Fiorentini, where she is currently employed.
