LOTTERY JACKPOTS TOTAL $794M FOR WEEKEND DRAWINGS

Mega Millions jackpot at $444 million, Powerball jackpot at $350 million

DORCHESTER, MA (MAY 30, 2019) – The Mega Millions jackpot for the Friday, May 31 drawing is an estimated $444 million, while the Powerball jackpot for the Saturday, June 1 drawing is an estimated $350 million.

 The cash option on the Mega Millions prize is an estimated $281.1 million, while the cash option on the Powerball prize is an estimated $221.0 million.

 Friday night’s Mega Millions drawing will be the 23rd since the jackpot was last hit March 12, when a $50 million jackpot was won on a ticket sold in Missouri.  Friday’s jackpot is the game’s largest since October 23, 2018, when a record setting $1.537 billion jackpot was won on a ticket sold in South Carolina.

Saturday night’s Powerball drawing will be the 19th since the jackpot was last hit March 27, when a $768.4 million jackpot was won on a ticket sold in Wisconsin.

 “The chance to win hundreds of millions of dollars generates extra excitement for both of these games and we encourage people to keep the experience enjoyable by playing responsibly,” said Michael Sweeney, Executive Director of the Massachusetts State Lottery.

 Mega Millions tickets are $2 each and can be played in 44 states, Washington D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands.  Tickets for Friday’s drawing can be purchased until 10:45 p.m. Friday at Massachusetts Lottery retailers throughout the state.  Drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday at 11:00 p.m. ET in Atlanta, GA.

Powerball tickets are $2 each and can be played in 44 states, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.  Tickets for Saturday’s drawing can be purchased until 9:50 p.m. Saturday at Massachusetts Lottery retailers across the state.  Drawings are held every Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. ET in Tallahassee, Florida.

The jackpot for Saturday night’s Megabucks Doubler drawing is an estimated $2.5 million.
