Lynch to Announce Candidacy for Senate

 Lynch will be announcing his candidacy for United States Senate in the upcoming special election to replace John Kerry. He will be stopping at the following locations on Thursday, January 31st and has asked all union members to attend.

 Lynch is the son of an Ironworker and joined Ironworkers Local 7 after high school. He became the union’s youngest president at age 30 while attending the Wentworth Institute of Technology. He received his J.D. from Boston College Law School in 1991. For several years he worked as a lawyer, primarily representing housing project residents and labor unions.

 Lynch was elected to the Massachusetts House of Representatives. In 1995, he won a special election to succeed state Senator William M. Bulger. He won a special election to represent the 9th district in the United States House of Representatives in 2001, and has held
