Methuen Firefighters Anthony Coco and Ryan Colvin named 2018 recipients of the “EMS Stewards of the Community” award

Methuen Fire Chief Tim Sheehy and the Methuen Fire Department are proud to announce that Firefighters Anthony Coco and Ryan Colvin have been named 2018 recipients of the “EMS Stewards of the Community” award.

This recognition honors outstanding commitment to patient care and citizens served. Coco and Colvin were selected from a field of nominations that came from physicians, nurses, and fellow EMS providers.

On April 2, Coco and Colvin joined fellow Methuen firefighters responding to a distress call from Pete Fisher. They found Pete’s wife, Theresa, a pregnant woman, unconscious, and worked with fellow first responders in saving the lives of her and her unborn child.

The “EMS Stewards of the Community” awards recognize those who carry out the noble work of caring for others with expertise, professionalism, and compassion.

The duo received their awards on Tuesday, May 22 in Quincy, MA. “We congratulate Anthony and Ryan for their dedicated service to the community,” says Methuen Fire Chief Tim Sheehy. “We also thank the EMS Stewards of the Community Award Committee for recognizing their work.
