Methuen Village Raises $6K for Alzheimer’s Association

METHUEN-VILLAGELast month, Methuen Village Assisted Living and Compass Memory Support hosted their annual Casino Night, an evening of spectacular food and games, to support a cause. This year, all proceeds were donated directly to the Alzheimer’s Association, Massachusetts/New Hampshire Chapter.

Local individuals, organizations and businesses showed additional support by donating creative gift baskets for the evening’s Giant Raffle. “We are so thankful to our greater community. The generosity of those that participated in the event not only help to fund much needed research opportunities, but also helps us to build awareness of the disease,” said Gregory Batchelder, Executive Director of Methuen Village. “We know that people who have Alzheimer’s disease may not experience noticeable symptoms for many years, so awareness and understanding of the disease are crucial in helping to find the research participants that are needed make progress.”

Boston is fortunate to have two of the 29 Alzheimer’s Disease Centers in the United States, the Massachusetts Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center and the Boston University Alzheimer’s Disease Center (BU ADC), with which Methuen Village is affiliated.
