36th Annual Garden Tour – June 13-June 14
The Museum of Old Newbury Presents the 36th Annual Garden Tour, “Visions of Paradise”

First Annual Discover Maudslay Day – June 20, 1-4pm
Join us for the First Annual Discover Maudslay Day.
Stop by the Maudslay State Park Association booth in the main parking lot and treat yourself to welcome refreshments and snacks and pick up information and handouts. We will introduce you to the Association and answer any questions you might have. We are a Maudslay State Park Friends Group that works to support the upkeep and maintenance of the Park. Tour the formal gardens, stately walks, river outlooks, former mansion sites and still existent structures that make up the foot traffic only sections of the park.
We will also introduce you to the wilder sections of the park, open to foot traffic, bikers and horseback riders that take in the wonderful stands of laurels, rhododendrons and ancient stands of white pines. Meadows and fields, crossed by meandering paths, present views of the Merrimack River and climb to the heights of Castle Hill, where Moulton Castle stood in days gone by. The Discover Day Event is free, but parking is subject to the revised state parking fee schedule: MA Residents $5, non-residents $6. STRIPER TOURNAMENT SUPPORTING YANKEE HOMECOMING June 27, 9am-3pm
The kick off of Yankee Homecoming will begin with the 10th Annual Yankee Homecoming Striper Tournament at Ring’s Island Marina, Salisbury, MA. This event is sponsored by The Newburyport Five Cent Savings Bank. All proceeds to benefit the Newburyport Yankee Homecoming Fireworks Display. CASH PRIZES will be awarded for the longest Striper caught from land, dock, or a boat at sea. Raffles for other great prizes! OPEN TO EVERYONE! Join us rain or shine! $40 per fisherman ($25 per junior 15 and under) – all entrants received insulated tote bag, paid entries received before June 7th receive a free t-shirt! MUSIC MIKE NIGHT AT PHAT CATS BISTRO – June 1, 7pm – 9pm
Phat Cats Bistro is planning a night of live music, drinks and a limited menu. On Monday, June 1, the restaurant will be open from 6-10pm. Mike and guest will be playing classical guitar from 7-9pm. Phat Cats Bistro, 65A Market Street.
FULLER BLOCK MUSIC SERIES – Thursday Nights at 5:30pm
Thursday nights through August, downtown Amesbury will be flooded with live music from various performers who will set up in front of Nest, on the corner of Friend and Main Streets. The Fuller Block Music Series is sponsored by the Amesbury Chamber of Commerce and Nest, with support from the Amesbury Cultural Council and other local businesses on specific nights. For this month the following will be performed, June 4th- Frank Czar, June 11th- Thr33 Band, June 18th – Howie Newman
REVOLUTIONARY WAR GRAVES CEMETERY TOUR WITH BARTLETT MUSEUM – June 20, 1-3pm
Join the Bartlett Museum on its first cemetery tour by Lynn Davis. Gather at the Bartlett Museum, 270 Main Street, Amesbury to then tour the Union Cemetery off Macy Street and visit the seven Revolutionary War Graves. The tour includes graves of veterans: Captain John Currier, John Dustin, David Lowell, Ezekiel Goodridge, John Barnard, John Blaisdell and Merchant Cleaves. Suggested donation cost of $10 is charged at the door, $8 in advance. To reserve tickets, call 978-388-3089. The Bartlett Museum is open Memorial Weekend through Labor Day on Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays from 1-4pm. RING RECKERS CAR SHOW FOR AMESBURY DAYS – All Day Event in Downtown Amesbury on June 28
With the support of the City of Amesbury and Mayor Ken Gray, a car enthusiast and owner of an award-winning vehicle, the Ring Reckers Car Show is once again coming to downtown to be a part of Amesbury Days. In 2014, there were more than 600 cars and we hear even more are planned for this year.
