Newt Gingrich: The Best Republican Candidate for President

Only Gingrich Can Institute the Fundamental Reforms Needed to Return America to Its Founding Principles and to the Prosperity That Will Quickly Follow

 VALLEY PATRIOT EDITORIAL!

Newt GingrichToday,America is stuck on stupid. We are mired in the leftist claims of entitlement and the promise that our prosperity can be achieved through a national policy of wealth redistribution and central planning. Envy and class warfare are used to divide us with the expectation that there are more voters willing to loot than there are voters who believe in and appreciate individual liberty.

If you are not a student of history or not well schooled in the intellectual foundations of America, you might conclude that we can tinker our way out of this mess. Twist this dial, lower that tax 2%, spend a little less here, cut a few regulations, smile more … that these would make everything better.

If you believe that, vote for Mitt Romney … a fine and decent fellow, but a candidate that isn’t committed to returning America to our founding principles. At least not as committed as Newt Gingrich. If elected, Romney would be a far greater president than the anti-American socialist that occupies the White House currently, but his presidency would merely amount to a temporary pause on our way to oblivion. With Mitt we could win the battle and lose the war.

Other candidates, all better than Barack Obama, have their own strengths and weaknesses. A few who might champion fundamental reforms, like Ron Paul and Rick Santorum, are too likely to be defeated in November to risk being chosen.

Only Newt Gingrich has evidenced a career-long passion forAmerica’s roots and only Gingrich seems to have the fire in his belly needed to champion fundamental reform of our government.

The Board of The Valley Patriot believes that Newt Gingrich is the best choice for Republicans in 2012.

Of all the candidates, only Newt Gingrich has spent a lifetime studying history and in particular the great thinkers that gave rise to the founding of this country. Add to this his practical experience gained while serving in Congress and his exceptional oratorical skills, and you have a candidate that can return America to her greatness while restoring our cherished liberties.

Finally, we would be remiss if we did not mention Newt’s well thought out positions on three issues: domestic economic issues (tax policy, regulatory reform, and energy policy), illegal immigration, and external threats to our national security.

On the economic front, Newt will stop the Obama-scheduled 2013 tax increase and replace it with a 15% flat tax while eliminating taxes on capital gains. He promises to drastically cut job-killing regulations including Sarbanes-Oxley, Dodd-Frank, and the Community Re-investment Act (also known as the Stupid Mortgage Requirement Act). In the process he will break up Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, modernize the FDA so that Americans will not be denied the benefits of life-saving medical breakthroughs, and re-place the EPA with an agency committed to rational environmental solutions consistent with our growing energy needs.

Newt boldly supports immigration … LEGAL immigration. He knows that we are a nation of laws and that our immigration laws must be respected. His plan ensures that our borders will be controlled, our Visa program will be reformed so that Visas for entrepreneurs and for those with critical skills will be expedited, and that a path to legality is provided for law-abiding immigrants that have proven to be productive members of our communities over a substantial period of time. This is a sensible plan we can all endorse.

Twenty years ago, the threats toAmerica’s national security were minimal. Today they are substantial and growing. Newt far outpaces his competitors for the nomination when it comes to knowledge of history, military strategy and national security issues. He has studied these for decades and has taught these subjects to most of our Generals in our war colleges. He is an ardent supporter of our ally Israel, the only free country in the Middle East, and he is well versed on the threats emanating from Iran,North Korea,Pakistan,China, and Russia.

We won’t respond here to the recent criticisms of Newt (see Don Feder’s article re-printed in January edition of The Valley Patriot) except to say that the free world’s greatest leaders all made mistakes as they matured. The saving grace was that they all shared a deep-seated knowledge, understanding and appreciation for the fundamental principles of individual freedom, free markets, and free societies; all of which put them in a position to understand and correct their past transgressions.

Gingrich is the candidate most in tune with Tea Party principles. Speaker Newt Gingrich will best defend job providers, will give a national voice to Tea Party principles, will implement the best fiscal policies for the nation, and will help small businesses begin investing, hiring, and spending again.

The Valley Patriot, New England’s Number One Tea Party Newspaper, endorses Newt Gingrich for the Republican nomination for president.

May he be true toAmerica’s founding principles and slay the dragon this November.
