North Andover Fire Dept. 4th Annual Toy Drive for Local Children in Need

By: Tracy Zysk- December, 2012

Matt Davis and the North Andover Fire Department will be hosting their “4th Annual Toy Drive for Local Children.”

Firefighter Matt Davis started this drive four years ago with a vision that every child would wake up Christmas morning with a toy. No child should go without.

Working with approximately fourteen other local fire departments a toy drive was formed. The mission is to keep it local: All toys are distributed to children north of Boston. Matt works closely with the North Andover Youth Center, Woodridge Homes and a few other local groups that are resources for children in need. Last year most of the toys stayed in North Andover.

The North Andover Merchants Association donated $250.00 of toys to Matt. All toys were purchased in town from local merchants.

Residents are encouraged to bring new, unopened and unwrapped toys — for kids of any age group to either North Andover Fire Department stations. Station 1 is located at 124 Main St., right next to Town Hall. Station 2 is at 9 Salem St. Call 978-688-9590 for more information. You can bring toys to the Fire Department for this charity up until Dec. 20.
