O’Connor Ives to Serve as Senate Chair of Joint Committee on Community Development and Small Businesses

Last week, State Senator Kathleen O’Connor Ives was appointed as the Senate Chair of the Joint Committee on Community Development and Small Businesses.  “This is a great opportunity to oversee meaningful legislation that will impact my district.  I look forward to serving in this capacity in the new legislative term, knowing that small businesses play a critical role in the success of our local economy and economic development state-wide,” said State Senator Kathleen O’Connor Ives.

Additionally, Senator O’Connor Ives will serve as the Vice Chair of the Senate’s Committee on Personnel and Administration and is also a standing member of the Senate’s Committee on

on Steering and Policy, as well as the Joint Committees on Financial Services, Higher Education, and Consumer Protection and Professional Licensure.

O’Connor Ives said, “I appreciate the opportunity to continue working on legislation related to financial services, higher education and consumer protection – three committees I was a member of last session.”

As a member of the Senate Committee on Steering and Policy, O’Connor Ives will participate in identifying and coordinating legislative and policy priorities.
