Instead of complying with the officer when he was stopped, Zygarowski assaulted Officer Pearson forcing the office to shot him with a taser gun.

Unaffected by the taser, Zygarowski pulled out the taser wires and sped off with two other passengers in the vehicle leading a high speed chase through Methuen and into Lawrence.

Officer Pearson caught up to the suspect after he blew out a tire on Essex St. in Lawrence. Zygarowski assaulted the officer again and stole his police car telling cops he would “kill any cop I see.” There were automatic weapons in the police cruiser.

The police car was recovered a few streets away on Merrimack Place off Water Street. Zygarowski was arrested by Salem Police less than an hour later without incident.

The other two passengers in the car were arrested but released without being charged.
