POWERBALL JACKPOT AT $381 MILLION FOR WEDNESDAY’S DRAWING

Largest Powerball jackpot since October 27

DORCHESTER, MA (MARCH 5, 2019) The Powerball jackpot for the Wednesday, March 6 drawing is an estimated $381 million. The cash option on the prize is an estimated $228.1 million.

Wednesday night’s Powerball drawing will be the 20th since the jackpot was last hit December 26, when a $298.3 million jackpot was won on a ticket sold in New York.  The $381 million jackpot is the game’s largest since October 27, when a $687.8 million jackpot was shared by winning tickets sold in Iowa and New York.

“As we begin Problem Gambling Awareness Month, we remind people to keep the experience of playing the lottery fun by playing responsibly,” said Michael Sweeney, Executive Director of the Massachusetts State Lottery.

Powerball tickets are $2 each and can be played in 44 states, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.  Tickets for this drawing can be purchased until 9:50 p.m. Wednesday at Massachusetts Lottery retailers across the state.  Drawings are held every Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. ET in Tallahassee, Florida.
