Puerto Rican Art Exhibit at the Buttonwoods Museum

Buttonwoods Museum Guest Curator Dr. Graciela Trilla, of Haverhill, MA is thrilled to share her family’s collection of Puerto Rican art works by the artists of the distinguished “Generación de los Cincuenta” (the generation of the 1950s).

It will feature 41 pieces of art created in various mediums including paintings, drawings, lithographs, wood carving prints, and serigraphs, as well as an exhibit of the 500 year old Puerto Rican art of making lace recognized as Mundillo.

 Additionally, ceramic pieces and art work by Puerto Rican artist Moon Rodriguez Decker will also be on display. Rodriguez Decker received his BA from the Mass School of Art and his MFA from the University of Baltimore.

 The exhibit will be on display at the Buttonwoods Museum in Haverhill, MA from September 8 through October 30 in honor of Hispanic Heritage month. A reception will be held on Sunday, September 12 from 1-4 p.m.

 The Buttonwoods Museum is located at 240 Water Street, Haverhill, MA. Museum hours are Tuesdays through Saturdays 10a to 5p and Sundays 12 to 5p, closed on Mondays. This exhibit is free and open to the public. For more information email info@buttonwoods.org or call 978-374-4626.

Exposición de arte Puertorriqueño en el Museo Buttonwoods

La curadora invitada, Dra. Graciela Trilla­­ de Haverhill, MA, está encantada de compartir la colección de su familia de obras de arte por artistas Puertorriqueños de la distinguida “Generación de los Cinquenta”. Se exhibirán 41 obras de arte creadas a través de varios medios, incluyendo pinturas, dibujos, litografías, grabados en madera y serigrafías, así como una exhibición del arte de encaje Puertorriqueño, Mundillo, establecido hace 500 años en Moca e Isabela, PR.

Además, se exhibirán piezas de cerámica y obras de arte del artista Puertorriqueño Moon Rodríguez Decker. Rodríguez Decker recibió su BA del Mass School of Art y su MFA de la Universidad de Baltimore.

La coleción de la familia Trilla estará en exhibición en el Museo Buttonwoods en Haverhill, MA del 8 de septiembre al 30 de octubre en honor al mes de la Herencia Hispana. Una recepción se llevará a cabo el domingo 12 de septiembre de 1 a 4 p.m.

El Museo Buttonwoods ese encuentra en 240 Water Street, Haverhill, MA 01830. El horario del museo es de martes a sábado de 10:00 a 17:00 y los domingos de 12:00 a 17:00; cerrado los lunes.
