Central Catholic High School introduces their first Spanish American Hall of Fame recipient. His name is Jonathan Cruz. Jonathan stands at six feet seven inches.

And believe me when I tell you, the size of his body isn’t even close to the size of his class and personality. Not much for bragging or story telling, the large framed Cruz is just a good decent person. One of those people we need more of on this earth. I hope the youngsters will emulate Jonathan.

No trouble from Jonathan, except when it comes to facing him on the basketball court. His ability and agility unquestionably will mark him as one of, if not the best basketball talent to ever enhance the walls of the Marist School.

You are doing fantastic Jonathan, keep it up. CCHS, URI, and Quinnepiac College, hold your head high as we salute you along with the Spanish Americans that are greatly appreciative and proud! Please let us not forget the two great Hall of Fame recipients from Methuen, Casey Grange and John Rimas Jr. That’s the way to do it!

ELECTRONIC BENEFITS TRANSFER (EBT)

Electronic Benefits Transfer is an electronic system that allows a welfare recipient to authorize transfer of their government benefits from a Federal account to a retailer account to pay for products received. It is used in all 50 states. The District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and Guam. This has been in use since 2004. Isn’t this special? Every month Uncle Sam makes a deposit to each person with an EBT card.

What ever happened to accountability?

How about going down to the welfare office with a photo ID and picking up your check? While there, government employees can eye ball you and ask logical questions. Such as, has your status changed, are your address and telephone still the same? Some people being devious will find ways to get money from ATM’s and so forth, to buy liqueur and cigarettes and other things that are not covered by the magic card. All the while John Q.

Public forks over all the free monies while working his job and trying to make ends meet honestly. Now you and I know that there are gazillions of recipients who are not qualified to receive these free goodies, because there are no checks and balances.

Uncle Sam has deep, deep pockets!

Not!

When are we going to wise up and get rid of these bleeding liberals in the congress who give everything away? Between the stimulus plan that went nowhere, the gas prices that moves everything up higher from food to furniture to clothing, and yet, we keep the same Buffoons in office time and again. What is wrong with us? Its name is Apathy!

The Annual Neighborhood Reunion which includes anyone who attended the Assumption, Tarbox, Hood, or Lawlor Schools. If you hung around the Downey Flake Donut Shop, or Lawlor’s Drug Store, or came from the Arlington District in the ‘40’s 50’s and early 60’s, come on down.

The date is Monday June 25, 2012 at Jackson’s Restaurant on the 110 Boulevard in Methuen, Mass. The time is 6:00 P. M. and you will have a great buffet that is only $8.00 a person. There will also be a 50/50 drawing which will benefit the Wounded Warriors Fund. So come on down and laugh and see friends you have not seen for a while. Laugh till your stomach hurts!

May the good Lord take a liking to you, do something nice for someone today. And, we wish you enough.
