WILMINGTON –  The weekend of Nov. 02 – Nov. 04, 2018 will be the 33rd annual Greater Boston Sports Collectors Club autograph show at the Shriner’s Auditorium at 99 Fordham Road in Wilmington.

Working year round to gather a great lineup of guests to appear in town, Mike Josselyn of Sure Shot Promotions said, “Teddy Bruschi is one of our top names this year.”

Alongside Buster Douglas who was the first boxer to beat 37-0 Mike Tyson on Feb. 11, 1990 at the Tokyo Dome in Japan will be 15 NFL players, eight MLB players, seven NHL players and five NBA players.

George Wendt of the television show Cheers and the duo of Tom Berenger and Corbin Bernsen who played in the 1989 baseball movie “Major League” will be signing autographs as well as Sports Illustrated Swim Suit Model Camille Kostek.

“We’ve never had Joe Montana, he’s a fantastic name,” said Josselyn. “People used to compare Tom Brady to him when he won his first couple of Super Bowl’s and MVP’s.”

Mentioning the fact that “legendary Chicago Bear” Dick Butkus will make an appearance at the Shriner’s Auditorium for the first time, 5-time NBA Champion Dennis Rodman will be there too!

“They’re kind of a national scope,” said Josselyn with hopes fans will come out to see the non-New England athletes as well. “Fred Lynn, Jim Rice, and Dwight Evans, we had pretty much every year because people love them. Right now the Red Sox are unbelievable with Andrew Benintendi, Mookie Betts and Jackie Bradley, Jr.”

Speaking of how the first trio of Red Sox players mentioned combined to win awards such as the Rookie of Year and Most Valuable Player, Josselyn said fans could have arguments that Evans and Lynn join their teammate [Jim] Rice in Cooperstown as members of the Hall of Fame.

“Hopefully in 40-Years, we’re doing shows with Bradley, Betts and Benintendi and they’re in the Hall of Fame and have MVP’s too,” said Josselyn.

Tony La Russa who played baseball in 132 games for parts of six seasons between   1963-1973 will be in Wilmington as a member of the Boston Red Sox who served as a vice president and special assistant to Dave Dombrowski this season.

Most remember La Russa as a manager for the St. Louis Cardinals from 1996-2011 winning World Series titles in 2006 and 2011, but he also managed the Oakland Athletics from 1986-1995, winning the World Series in 1989 and managed the Chicago White Sox from 1979-1986.

Friday night, current Patriots players Sony Michel and James White will meet fans as President of Red Sox Nation, Broadcaster and Former Red Sox player from 1978-1984 Jerry Remy will there on Saturday.

Aside the 40 different autograph guests who will be at the Shriners the weekend of Nov. 02 will be 375 vender tables that sells different sports memorabilia and appraises sporting items too!

A new feature Sure Shot Promotions has brought to town is the “Photo Op” where fans could have their picture taken at the cost of an autograph with the celebrity they choose.

“Since it will take more time than the autograph, in most cases, we charge an autograph fee for the photo,” said Josselyn. “It’s another opportunity for fans to meet the athlete or celebrity they want to meet and have a different type of memory with.”

The 34th annual GBSCC show will take place the weekend of Nov. 01, 2019 at the Shriner’s Auditorium in Wilmington and Terry Francona may be one of the featured guests at the show!
