North Andover School Committeeman Laurie Burzlaff has resigned her seat on the committee to take a job with the Town as Executive Assistant to the Town Manager. The job pays approximately $48,000.
Burzlaff was elected to the School Committee in 2009 and was reelected in 2013. School Committee members in North Andover serve a three-year term and are elected during town elections in March.
Burzlaff left just seven months before her term was set to expire setting up a special appointment to replace her. A joint meeting of the School Committee and the Board of Selectmen will vote on a temporary replacement for 
Burzlaff within 30 days.
Among the eight applicants to replace Burzlaff is defeated State Representative David Torrisi and former School Committeeman William Kelley.
