Valley Patriot Readers Donate $2,100 for Tech Scholarships

Valley Patriot readers and advertisers stepped up to the plate again this year donating a total of $2,100 for our Valley Patriot, Gr. Lawrence Tech Scholarships at the 15th Anniversary BASH.

DAHIANNA DIPLAN

Michael Gagliardi, president of Laborer’s Union Local 175 donated $1,000 again this year for a student graduating from the Gr. Lawrence Tech.
Gagliardi was on hand April 5th at the Firefighters Relief’s In to present his check to Dahianna Diplan.

Diplan is the daughter of Nancy Cruz, resides in Methuen and is in the Business Technology program at Greater Lawrence Technical School. Dahianna has excelled academically in advanced classes and maintains a 3.9 G.P.A. Dahianna is a model student with excellent leadership skills.

As a result of her hard work and determination in her career area, Dahianna has obtained employment via the Cooperative Education Program at Greater Lawrence Technical School. She is professional, reliable, and a great example of what it means to be a team player.

Dahianna is a John and Abigail Adams Scholar and has volunteered at Bread and Roses. She is a Reggie Leader, a Class Representative, and is on the Yearbook Committee.

Dahianna’s future plan is to study Criminology at a 4 year university.

DAN WAHLGREN

Valley Patriot readers donated $1,100 to a scholarship for Gr. Lawrence Tech. senior Dan Wahlgren of Methuen.

Donating to this scholarship were:

Christine Prescott – $100, Wendy Perez Sollivan -$25, Tom and Nancy Troy from Local 1421 Building Wreckers-$500, Paul Dunphy-$25, Janie Evans-$175, Janie Wilson – $100, Rick Bellanti, Bell Aire Music – $75, and Robert LeBlanc – $100.

Wahlgren is joining the U.S. Marines and plans to major in engineering at UMASS-Lowell.

Wahlgren is/has been a member of the National Honor Society, cross country, indoor track, outdoor track, offseason wrestling with Greater Lawrence, Lawrence High, Whittier tech, and Doughboys, wrestling, peer mediator, MIAA Leadership Summit, the yearbook committee, Athletic Council, and mentoring STEAM students. ◊
