Young Business Owner in Lawrence Giving Back to the Community

By: Tomas G. Michel

On its 6th year anniversary, Kervin Valdez’ company, Town Livery Inc., will be providing shuttle transportation services to the students and staff of Northern Essex Community College. A partnership in which the young entrepreneur will be assisting with the logistics of the post-secondary education institution, as a back-up to their internal structure.

The livery coach service firm has had a trail of milestones, in which its CEO Kervin, has sacrificed regular sleep patterns and time with family, in order to achieve them. Its mission is to extend a dependable, luxurious and stress-free chauffeured transportation service, across sectors.

Despite the short years of operations, the company has become a preferred vendor of the renowned Phillips Academy in Andover and a service provider for the American billionaire and businesswoman Aerin Lauder; as well as other international philanthropists and executives of similar profile. Successes in which the company has had to surpass a significant amount of challenges and scrutiny, such as obtaining a clearance from the Andover Police Department.

After state Senator Barry Finegold presented him with a citation, recognizing the impact that his enterprise has had in the community, Kervin continued to work harder for the people of the city of Lawrence. The past November 23rd, he organized a turkey drive in partnership with the New England Patriots Cornerback Justin Bethel, with the goal of providing assistance to families in need, to have their thanksgiving dinner.

A brand with a luxury experience and an affordable price, Town Livery is a platform that provides airport transportation, corporate limousine services, party bus, wedding shuttle and concert/sporting events. “Developing and maintaining strong relationships with the clients and the communities I serve is our priority” says Kervin, as he now has moved toward growth in his company.

Recently, he created career opportunities for local families, in order to extend the capacity of its operations and provide a broader administrative support. Especially now that its work with NECC has begun.

Latino-owned businesses rose in revenue from $258,702 in 2017 to $327,189 in 2018; an increase of 26.5% according to a study from Biz2Credit. It’s this very same demographic that is driving growth and wealth through the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and revitalizing underserved communities; as Kervin’s Town Livery is accomplishing in cities like Lawrence. With access to a fleet that includes a Cadillac Escalade, Mercedes Sprinter Van, and a Limo Party Bus, just to name a few.

Thanks to his persistence, continued effort and work ethics, he now has a platform that is placing Lawrence back in the radar within the business community, in a positive light.
