Zappala Releases new Book

 

Attorney Alfred M. Zappala is pleased to announce the imminent release of his third book on Sicily, “Figghiu Beddu”. The book is already available as a Kindle download from www.kindle.com .The soft cover book will be available at www.alfredzappala.com

The book, which will be released in three weeks, takes a humorous and serious look at everyday life in Sicily. Mr. Zappala lives in Aci Catena, Sicily most of the year and returns to the states to teach law and to public speak on Sicily every winter.

Mr. Zappala’s first two books on Sicily, “The Reverse Immigrant” and “Gaetano’s Trunk” which were released in 2010 and 2011 both were well received by the public and Figghiu Beddu is a continuation of his adventures in Sicily. His book also talks about the important Sicilian Project that he founded which is currently a program that teaches English to Sicilian students in Sicily.

Mr. Zappala speaks publicly on Sicily and has traveled extensively these past two year locally educating the public about Sicilian culture, his writings and The Sicilian Project.

He has been a featured speaker at the Sicilian American Cultural Association (SACA) in Chicago, Illinois and he has addressed many local gatherings in Massachusetts and New York, including locally at many libraries and civic clubs in the area.

Attorney Zappala has taught for many years at both Suffolk Law School and Northeastern Law School and is considered an expert on the bar examination. Attorney Zappala limits his law practice to matters pertaining to Italy and Sicily through affiliation with Italian counsel there.

In May of 2010, The Italian Government awarded him The Distinguished Service Award through the Italian Trade Commission for work he has done with Sicilian companies. He is a dual American and Italian citizen.
