Friends of Merrimack Valley Hospice is supporting the patients and families served by Merrimack Valley Hospice House with their recent purchase of recliners for each of the private suites at this specialized facility to help those nearing end of life. This gift is part of the group’s first annual gift to benefit the Hospice House and the care provided by Merrimack Valley Hospice.

Funds raised by Friends of Merrimack Valley Hospice House were the result of the group’s successful annual “Spring has Sprung” fundraiser brunch, held each spring. This first gift by the Friends provided replacement reclining chairs to the 14 original patient suites at Merrimack Valley Hospice House, which has been providing specialized end-of-life care to patients and their families since 2009.

“Many of the members of Friends of Merrimack Valley Hospice have personally experienced the physical, emotional and spiritual care of the Hospice House for someone we know and love,” says Stephen Janavicus, founding Board President of the Friends of Merrimack Valley Hospice. “Our first gift to the Hospice House provides a comfortable seat to relax in while surrounded by the unique and specialized care delivered there.”

The Friends of Merrimack Valley Hospice was created by a passionate group of individuals touched by the work of Merrimack Valley Hospice and the Merrimack Valley Hospice House. Friends of Merrimack Valley Hospice is an auxiliary, all-volunteer service organization supporting Merrimack Valley Hospice’s patients and their families by raising awareness and funds through yearly activities.
