Every year The Valley Patriot newspaper hold an annual Charity BASH where we raise money for local students going to college. This year is our 20th Anniversary and we are raising funds for eight high school students in the Merrimack Valley going to college in the fall.
The BASH is being held this year on March 22nd at the Firefighters Relief In, 1 Market St in Lawrence you can get tickets HERE!

Lizet Deferia
She loves this Country!
Lizet Deferia ia a senior at Haverhill High, who is also enrolled at Northern Essex Community College and the Haverhill High School EMT program.
She has been enrolled in the Haverhill High School JrROTC program since she was a freshman; during this time she has earned awards from the American Legion, Scottish Rite, and National Sojourners, which are all nomination awards and extremely competitive awards, others include, outstanding cadet, student leadership, officer leadership, NCO leadership, civic service, distinguished scholastic awards, arts and academics, distinguished military training, physical achievement, athletic participation award, longevity and fidelity, distinguished conduct and best drill squad, to name a few.
Lizet is part of the color guard, and drum and bugle corps.
She has volunteered at the MSPCA and she is a licensed CNA and has her Basic Life Support Certification and Basic and Advanced Dementia care certifications.
“ SHE BELIEVES THERE IS A SOLUTION FOR EVERYTHING “
She has enlisted in the Massachusetts Army Reserves and will be attending college upon completion of basic training. She has applied to URI, FSU, Emmanuel, Penn State, Syracuse University, University of Tampa, and Rutgers University, and her acceptance letters will arrive soon.
