Lawrence High, JrROTC Student Rachel Hiraldo Gets $2,175 Scholarship

Valley Patriot readers donated a total of $2,175 for a scholarship to Lawrence High School senior Rachel Hiraldo at the Valley Patriot’s 15th Anniversary Bash at the Firefighters Relief’s In on April 5th.

Donating to this scholarship were:

Eugene Smith – $1,200, The Lawrence Lions Club – $300, Anonymous – $100, Kelly O’Brien – $100, Billy Evans – $150, Al Veilleux – $200, Sue Petrakis – $25, and Lawrence City Councilor Dave Abdoo – $100.
RACHEL HIRALDO
Rachell Hiraldo attended Passaic High School in New Jersey for her freshman and sophomore years where she was involved in the Navy JROTC program. Upon transferring to Lawrence High School her junior year, Rachell quickly became involved in the Army JROTC.

She is a member of the Lancer Battalion JROTC and holds the rank of Cadet/Major , Position: Executive Officer.

She has earned the JROTC Superior Cadet Medal during her junior year and has won a myriad of other awards and distinctions through JROTC.

Rachel currently maintains a 4.19 GPA and is a member of The National Honor Society.

Her counselor describes her as “an incredibly sweet and humble student” and “by far one of the brightest and most intelligent students” that she works with and I am very much looking forward to where she will go with her life.”

Because of our sponsors, this is the 8th year The Valley Patriot has been able to give college scholarships to Lawrence High School seniors through the LHS Alumni Association. Because of your support we’ve donated scholarships to 13 students from LHS to date.
