Elect Dan Rivera’s Inauguration Committee announced its schedule of events and celebrations for the 2014 Lawrence Inauguration, including a beautiful Inaugural Ceremony outside of City Hall at noon on Friday, January 3rd. U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren will be on hand to administer the oath of office. This ceremony is open to the public and press, and all are encouraged to join in the celebration. Committee Co-Chair Elizabeth Delgado recalled a previous Rivera theme in describing the ceremony, “The Mayor-Elect promised that he would bring sunshine on city hall, and we want the inauguration to be the first representation of that. So many people do not visit city hall and see it for the beautiful structure that it is. We want to celebrate this new administration, to celebrate the good work that will get done in this city.”
In order to allow residents to plan for the events, the committee today released a schedule of events that it hopes will draw residents, business owners, volunteers and friends of the city.
