The voter fraud that took place in the Lawrence City Council race two years ago on Prospect Hill (District “A”) and possibly District B, blows away the false narrative at the national level that voter fraud does not exist, vote by mail is perfectly secure, and voter ID is racist.
That false narrative is perpetuated by the rich white people of privilege in the Democrat party, as well as the corporate media giants who fund them because it’s the Democrat party which benefits most from voter fraud.
The Lawrence City Council also seems perfectly OK with that.
Two years ago, (now) Lawrence City Councilor Fidelina Santiago was caught driving around a campaign supporter who stole mail-in-ballots from people’s mailboxes who were known to be supporting her political opponent.
She not only stole the ballots, but she also filled out those ballots and voted for herself multiple times.
The publisher of this newspaper played video of the incident on his podcast showing the ballot theft in 2023, identifying the perpetrator, and detailing how police caught Santiago on a traffic camera driving the getaway car.
Santiago and her cohort were eventually arrested, charged, prosecuted, and just last month plead guilty.
She is expected to be sentenced this month and our sources say she will have her prison sentence waved in exchange for her plea, as well as agreeing not to seek reelection, and to not run for office anytime in the future.
But the damage done by Santiago’s voter fraud didn’t end there.
Having won by a very small margin, she sat on that council for two years, and last month actually voted in favor of extending vote-by-mail for this fall’s municipal elections.
Just imagine – someone elected by committing voter fraud in a “vote-by-mail” scheme, using the seat she literally stole – to ensure that others can continue the fraud once she’s gone?
This is a national story and it should be causing outrage!
But, of course, it’s being ignored by corporate media because remember, there is no such thing as voter fraud.
Even when there is.
Councilor Santiago is not the only one here with culpability, as a majority of her colleagues on the council supported extending the vote by mail scheme as well.
In fact, Santiago’s colleagues on the council have had nothing to say about this voter fraud as they sat with her week after week knowing she was illegitimately voting on that council.
They had nothing to say when she was caught by The Valley Patriot in 2023.
They had nothing to say when she was arrested.
They had nothing to say when she plead guilty.
In fact, a few of her fellow councilors and their main supporter Julissa Nunez ACTUALLY PRAISED Fidelina Santiago saying she had “served with integrity” and failed to condemn her, all the while pointing the fingers of fraud at the mayor every time he breathes the wrong way.
There is one city councilor, however, who has consistently tried to address the Santiago situation and propose methods to stop it from happening in the future, and that is At-Large City Councilor Ana Levy.
Levy has met resistance at the council table as she has tried to implement Voter ID in Lawrence for over two years and opposed vote-by-mail.
Despite the fact that more than 80% of Lawrence voters support Voter ID and have witnessed (and documented) election fraud for decades, this council refuses to take action because, let’s face it, they are democrats and most of them want to run for higher office in the future.
You can’t do that successfully if you support Voter ID.
Those who run the democrat party tend to frown upon that because, say it with us now – there is no such thing as voter fraud!
In response, Councilor Ana Levy has written a letter to the Secretary of State begging for help with securing Lawrence elections this month. The letter was signed only by Councilors Levy, DelRosario and Reyes, as well as Mayor DePena.
We believe that the majority of the Lawrence City Council is doing a great disservice to the voters of Lawrence, and we urge Secretary of State Galvin to step in and take very strong measures to ensure the cheating in Lawrence elections stop once and for all.
We are not holding our breath however, because to do that would be an admission by his party that voter fraud actually DOES exist.
We strongly urged Councilor Fidelina Santiago to resign in the print edition of our newspaper last month, but she only did so after two years of voting illegally on the council and eventually being forced to plead guilty of voter fraud.
That’s a disgrace!
But what is more of a disgrace is that her colleagues on the city council did nothing for two years. They never condemned her actions. They never censured her. They never even distanced themselves from her. In fact, they spent two years posing for selfies with her at local events pretending like nothing happened.
Why did they go along with this fraud for two years?
Because Fidelina Santiago was the deciding vote on most council proposals and she consistently voted with them against Mayor Brian DePena. So, better to have a fraud helping them oppose DePena than stand for the voters and lose their political leverage.
If Santiago had been the deciding vote in favor of Mayor DePena’s proposals – instead of being the deciding vote against him – we all know these councilors would be screaming at the top of their lungs on every Spanish language radio show, Telemundo, and Univision calling “Brian DePena’s candidate” a FRAUD.
But, as long as she voted the right way, nothing to see here, move along!
Santiago may finally be paying a price for her illegal behavior, but there is still no accountability for those who did nothing, said nothing, and pretended it never happened.
Even to this day.
We find that most disturbing of all.
