For many years now Democrats have claimed the only way to “protect our democracy” is to stop President Trump at all costs. They have compared President Trump repeatedly to Hitler and have assured us that another Trump presidency will result in the end of democracy both here and globally. This incendiary rhetoric came to a head on July 13th when an assassin came within a millimeter of ending President Trump’s life. A momentary turn of his head was all that prevented the end of the life of the democratically elected presidential nominee of the Republican Party.
Throughout the primary season the Democratic Party made sure President Biden was the only candidate that could secure enough delegates to cinch the nomination. Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and others, wished to challenge President Biden, but the DNC made sure neither RFK Jr., nor anyone else, would be able to secure sufficient delegates to become the nominee. Democracy, apparently, is too important to be left to the voters according to the Democratic Party.
This is how we “protect our democracy” by making sure only one candidate, the chosen candidate of the party insiders, could possibly become the nominee? If President Biden were truly the best candidate, and the choice of the people, then why not open the primary? Republicans certainly did. Nothing prevented anyone from mounting a primary challenge to President Trump in 2020, and in fact Massachusetts own former Governor Bill Weld did just that.
In the current cycle no less than 6 candidates took on President Trump for the Republican nomination. The Republican primary was wide open and the RNC made no attempt to limit the participation of any candidate. The challengers participated in several debates to state their case to the voters. President Trump emerged victorious, securing his delegates democratically, by the will of the voters, against all these challengers.
A scant eight days after the aforementioned attempt on President Trump’s life, President Biden, the anointed nominee of the Democratic Party released a letter stating he was no longer seeking the nomination. Shortly after the letter was released Biden’s X account formally endorsed Kamala Harris as his replacement. For the better part of a decade Trump supporters have been derided as cultists. However, it is truly amazing how quickly the democrats got in line behind Harris.
Once the die was cast, it didn’t take long for every prominent Democrat, and their media allies, to get in line behind this newly coronated successor to Democratic nomination throne. Within 48 hours Vice President Harris had secured sufficient delegates to become the party nominee. Massachusetts Democrats such as Elizabeth Warren and Maura Healey helped lead the charge. They quickly let us know that only Kamala Harris, the woman who dropped out of the 2020 Presidential Primary before a single vote was cast, and who has never had a single delegate elected in her name, can save our democracy!
Not everyone is buying this new narrative. One of the most interesting, and vocal challenges to the ascension of Vice President Harris has been Black Lives Matter. BLM was instrumental to getting Biden elected. As soon as he was in office, he completely snubbed them.
On July 23rd BLM released a statement on Kamala Harris securing enough delegates to become the Democratic Nominee. In their statement they present the following damning arguments:
“Democratic Party elites and billionaire donors are attempting to manipulate Black voters by anointing Kamala Harris and an unknown vice president as the new Democratic ticket without a primary vote by the public. This blatant disregard for democratic principles is unacceptable.”
“We do not live in a dictatorship. Delegates are not oligarchs. Any attempt to evade or override the will of voters in our primary system—no matter how historic the candidate—must be condemned.”
BLM’s statements have been echoed by many others outside of the Democratic leadership and their corporate media allies. It should be obvious to anyone that the manner in which the Democrats have chosen their nominee is completely antithetical to “protecting democracy.” Rather, to even the most casual observer, this is little more than a ploy by party elites obsessed with maintaining power at all costs.
Come November 6th, if you truly want to protect democracy and preserve our Republic you cannot vote for whomever the Democrat Party insiders and elite have coronated. Rather, your best option is to vote for the candidate that has withstood the rigors of the democratic process to arrive on the ballot, and that candidate is President Trump.
