Valley Patriot Gr. Lawrence Tech. Scholarship Recipient Arielle Cavarretta

This year’s Greater Lawrence Tech Scholarship winner Arielle Cavarretta of Methuen received a check for $6,125 from Valley Patriot readers at our annual BASH.

Arielle Cavarretta is a 12th grade student in the Engineering program at Greater Lawrence Technical School.

Arielle has excelled academically throughout her high school career. She is currently ranked 5th in a class of 405 students and maintains a 4.3 / 4.0 GPA while taking honors level classes.

Outside of the classroom, Arielle is active and involved in the GLTS school community. She can be found most days after school at meetings for various clubs or volunteering at school events.

She is an editor of the yearbook, a member of the National Honor Society, co-president of her class and part of our ‘Reggie Leader’ group.

As a Reggie Leader, she mentors younger students and acts as an ambassador for our school at community events.

Arielle also volunteers to wrap Christmas gifts for children at St. Lucy Parish and plants flags on Memorial Day at St. Mary – Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Methuen. She is able to achieve outstanding grades, be involved at GLTS and volunteer in her community while also working a part time job.

Arielle plans to study animal science at UMass Amherst, UNH or University of Connecticut. Arielle lives in Methuen with her parents, Mark and Kelly Cavarretta.

On hand to present her check was Methuen State Representatives Ryan Hamilton, Estela Reyes, and Francisco Paulino, as well as councilors Jessica Finocchiaro, Eunice Zeigler, and Nick DiZoglio. Also present were Gr. Lawrence Tech School Committee Chair Francisco Surillo, Lawrence Councilor Stahanie Infante (who served on the Tech School Committee). Massachusetts State Auditor Diana DiZoglio presented Arielle with a citation as did representative Estela Reyes and State Senator Pavel Payano and former Councilor Ron Marsan.
