TITLE Boxing Club has quickly become the go-to fitness club for workout enthusiasts and beginners alike in the Merrimack Valley. Appropriate for all ages and fitness levels, members range in age from 8-87, and the largest demographic is women, ages 26-54.

Last month, Title Boxing Club of North Andover donated 10 punching bags to the Lawrence Boxing Club in Lawrence for underage minority kids learning self-defense and keeping them off the streets after school.
“We were thrilled to receive the donation of these punching bags,” said Joe Parolisi of the Lawrence Boxing Club. “This will help us train and help youngsters in Lawrence. The donation of Title Boxing Club in North Andover is a great gift for our kids.”

Lauren Macaulay (one of the owners of Title), who has extensive marketing and management experience and a passion for athletics, said while the renewed interest in boxing, including its first-time inclusion as a women’s sport in the 2012 Summer Olympics, were part of what prompted them to open a TITLE Boxing Club. The main reason, however, was TITLE’s commitment to giving back to their members and to the community.

“Some members are very experienced boxers, but most people, the first time they come here, they have no or very little experience. They come in and are a little intimidated, and as our trainers and staff know, it’s our job to make them very comfortable and to help make sure they get the results they seek.”

During the first year the club has been open, they have participated in more than three dozen community events, hosted just as many team-building activities for local groups, and donated to fundraisers and charitable causes in the community. And they are always looking for more worthy causes. They are also looking to keep the club fresh within TITLE’s guidelines.

Starting in October, they will offer boxing for people with Parkinsons, classes for children with special needs, as well as a 30 minute (4-round) and 75 minute (12-round) class format. Additionally, a member loyalty program was just rolled out.

“We are thrilled to still have many of the core trainers we opened the club with (Pat Kelley, Brandon Chagnon, Rich Arone, Stephanie DiCindio), as well as having gained some fantastic additional trainers over the past year,” Lauren continued. “We are always seeking more trainers. We’ve had many applicants but TITLE’s certification process is tough, and so few make it through it. As we approach the 1 year mark, we have over 500 members – many very loyal members who have been with us since day one and workout at the club 3-5 times/week. We have been collecting testimonials from members about the changes they’ve experienced through the workouts (weight loss, strength gained, lower stress, etc.).

With more than 140 clubs open across the country and in Mexico, and more than 500 franchises sold, TITLE is one of the fastest growing franchises in the nation. Clubs continue to open each month, and here in Massachusetts, a Framingham club is slated to open in November and the Macaulays are opening a second club in Woburn around December/January, and a third location in late 2015 (location TBD). Clubs are also anticipated to open in Boston and southern New Hampshire.
