Subject: LPS Equity Audit Town Hall

Dear Lawrence Public Schools educators,

In the spring of 2020, LPS committed to a process of creating an actively anti-racist school system. The country’s struggle to respond coherently to equity issues paired with the pandemic hitting Lawrence especially hard made clear the need for a formal, comprehensive and public assessment of LPS policies and practices in relation to anti-racism, and that doing so would help ensure the best possible outcomes for our students.

An essential step in this process is an independent, district-wide equity audit featuring the voices and experiences of students, families and staff, which will be the foundation on which this work is built moving forward. Below, please see an invitation from BlackPrint, our partners in this effort, for LPS educators of color to participate in this important event.

Thank you and have an excellent weekend.
