SALEM, NH – Keller Williams Realty associates today donated their time to “Give Where They Live” as part of RED Day, one of the biggest events in the real estate industry.

Short for “Renew, Energize and Donate,” RED Day was created to unite Keller Williams Realty offices and associates in an international day of service to improve local communities. As part of the 2013 RED Day effort, Keller Williams Realty in Andover, MA chose to spend the day with the Salem Animal Rescue League located in Salem, NH.

Established in 1992, the Salem Animal Rescue League (SARL) is a non-profit organization whose goal is to find permanent, loving homes for the abandoned and unwanted animals in Salem, NH and surrounding towns.

Keller Williams Associates helped to paint, mulch, fill pot holes, do yard work, and beautify the property.

“SARL is incredibly grateful for the tremendous kindness and hard work of the staff at Keller Williams. They did a great job clearing the field at our shelter which will allow our dog residents to have more room to exercise. Thanks to their re-painting of the facility and landscaping work, potential pet adopters visiting SARL will find a first-class facility that is firing on all cylinders to help find our animals their permanent home,” said SARL Director of Development and Community Relations, D.J. Bettencourt.

“We look forward to RED Day every year and it was a real pleasure helping the Salem Animal Rescue League. They do outstanding work caring and finding good homes for their animals. We are confident that our efforts will help SARL in their important mission,” said Keller Williams realtor and Salem resident Barbara Scanlon.

Since the first RED Day in 2009, Keller Williams associates have given almost half a million hours of community service through activities ranging from food and blood drives to cleaning up trash in public parks, revamping gardens at nursing homes and rebuilding homes and school for community members in need.
