Keolis Gives Scholarships to 5 Lawrence Students

Lawrence – Keolis Commuter Services (Keolis), operating partner for the MBTA Commuter Rail, announced today that 5 Lawrence students will each receive a $1,000 scholarship to pursue post-secondary education or job training as part of the Keolis Scholars Program. Since it was launched in 2015, the Keolis Scholars Program has awarded $25,000 each year in scholarships to 25 students, 5 each from Boston, Brockton, Lowell, Lynn, and Worcester.  

Mayor Brian A. DePeña hosted a celebration to honor the Lawrence scholarship recipients and their families at Lawrence City Hall. They were also joined by State Senator Frank Moran, State Representative and City Councilor Estela A. Reyes, and Lawrence Public Schools Superintendent Juan Rodriguez.

“I am very excited to host the 8th year of Keolis Scholars,” said Abdellah Chajai, CEO and General Manager of Keolis Commuter Services. “I congratulate the students who have been chosen as recipients for their achievements and contributions during high school. At Keolis, we are committed to partnering with the communities we serve to create opportunities and support the next generation of leaders.”
