BRAINTREE, MA (JULY 25, 2016) The Powerball jackpot for the Wednesday, July 27 drawing is an estimated $422 million. The cash option on the prize is an estimated $291 million.

The $422 million jackpot is the game’s highest since a $429.6 million jackpot that was hit 23 drawings ago on May 7.  Earlier this year, the Powerball jackpot soared to a world-record setting $1.586 billion for the January 13 drawing.  Tickets sold in California, Florida and Tennessee each won a share of that jackpot.

Powerball tickets are $2 each and can be played in 44 states, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.  Tickets for Wednesday’s drawing can be purchased until 9:50 p.m. at Massachusetts Lottery retailers across the state.  Drawings are held every Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. ET in Tallahassee, Florida.

Powerball drawings are available locally via the Lottery’s website – masslottery.com, and can also be viewed on the Lottery’s official Facebook, Twitter and YouTube accounts.
