Each year, Run for The Troops 5K, holds a 5K Walk/Run and a community Dinner & Silent Auction to honor our veterans. In addition to funds these events raise awareness of the needs of our soldiers. The public often forgets the hard human cost for a few to maintain freedom for us all.
In addition to raising funds to benefit Homes For Our Troops, our mission has expanded to support veteran services provided by Challenge Unlimited at Ironstone Farm, and Homeland Heroes Foundation.
With support from our community, generous race and dinner sponsorship and silent auction donors, we want to thank everyone who has helped support this mission and brought us to this – our 10th year.
About the Charities
Your entry fees and support from our sponsors allow us to run our great events and support our beneficiaries and all the great work they do for veterans.
The Homeland Heroes Foundation is committed to the re-acclimation support of active duty service members, veterans and their families in their time of need. HHF provides support in the following ways; Furniture and Household items, New Beds, Temporary hotel stays for homeless veterans, Food and Gas Cards, Holiday Food Baskets, Christmas Toy Drive and so much more. Challenge Unlimited at Ironstone Farm
Since 1983, Challenge Unlimited at Ironstone Farm has been helping children and adults find hope and healing through equine-assisted therapeutic programs. It serves people with a wide range of physical, emotional, and cognitive disabilities, uniting a diverse population in an environment that encourages joy, well-being, and improved quality of life.
